Starbucks has expanded off of land and onto the sea. In December, 2010, Starbucks opened a shop on the Royal Caribbean ship Allure of the Seas. In November, 2011, another Royal Caribbean ship, The Oasis of the Seas had a Starbucks on board.
All over the world, Starbucks has not always been a success. According to the New York Times, a location in Beijing had to close in July, 2007, because it was not representing Chinese culture. Also, according to the Starbucks Newsroom, they had to close the six locations in Israel because of “on-going operational challenges” and a “difficult business environment.”
Besides that, Starbucks is popular because it’s a trend that never gets out of season. People constantly see others holding their Starbucks cups and think,” I want one!” Starbucks’ publicity is enormous, especially because most celebrities have been seen in pictures with their Starbucks cups.
In addition to everything else, Starbucks also has a secret size not on the menu. It is called a “short”, but is also known as the “kid’s size”; it’s an eight ounce cup. So if someone is getting a Starbucks but doesn’t want all of it (for some reason), they should order “short.” In addition to this secret size, there is a secret menu. The menu includes drinks like Crunch Berry Frappuccino and Chocolate Dalmatian. To obtain this menu, just Google it and it will come up.
